Manchester City from 1892
The club was originally known as St Marks as they came into existence at the instigation of Anna Connell, whose father was the rector of St Marks in West Gorton. Further names including, West Gorton, Gorton AFC and Ardwick AFC were adopted and abandoned before the name Manchester City was struck on, in 1893.
In 1899, the club joined the elite of the first division, decades before its re-branding as the Premier League almost 100 years later. City have won the FA Cup on four occasions with the 1956 final against Birmingham City standing out with keeper Bert Trautmann continuing to play on after breaking his neck.
In terms of football, the city of Manchester has long been divided by two colors – the red of Manchester United and the blue of arch rivals, Manchester City. For many years United have held the upper hand, but now the balance is starting to change. Manchester City is almost unrecognizable from the club of five years ago. The two persons that started the club were Kevin Keegan followed by Stuart Pearce. As he completed the 2006-07 season with a result of 14th place, he was then replaced by the idol coach Sven-goran Eriksson. He surprisingly stretched the team to the 9th place, therefore gained position in the UEFA Champions League with ‘Fair Play Ranking’ during the years 2007/08, having high appreciation. Because of the reason stated above, the manager was replaced again. And this time the new coach is Mark Hughes, who was surprisingly replaced twice in June 2008 as well as in September 2008. Though the high profile team couldn’t qualify for the ‘Champions League qualification’ in 2009, they made their best record of finishing 5th with the help of the new manager Roberto Mancini in place of Mark Hughes.
They made the crowd cheered when it got a victory of a goal against Bolton to get the FA Cup. They again did it in 1934 and also got the league title randomly 3 times. In contrast, they were removed from the league despite making more scores, even than 1938.
The players of the team have proven themselves as fighters, as Bert Trautmann continued playing on regardless of breaking his neck. The team will always be remembered as entertaining the public fancily. The Whole world enjoys their premium performances.

With a large squad of expensive and highly talented players at his disposal, Manchester City manager and former Sampdoria star Roberto Mancini, will find himself facing tough decisions when making his team selections.
